Our story

From a Napa shuttle company to a national transportation platform

True Elegance Tours & Transportation has operated since 2008. Bobby Puri and his wife, Deepitka, started a small shuttle and taxi company in Napa, California — run out of their house at first. The company took off after the pair added a Town Car to the fleet and kept adding exactly what their market asked for.

Transportation was never new to Bobby. From age 12 he worked in his uncles' Bay Area paratransit and taxi operation — washing cabs, learning to be a mechanic, doing brake jobs, painting cars, installing taxi meters, and later handling accounting and dispatch. He tried a different path once, working as an insurance claims adjustor and nearly becoming a deputy sheriff for Alameda County, but chose the independence of transportation instead.

Under that same True Elegance umbrella, the fleet grew to 24 vehicles — sedans, SUVs, a full line of Sprinters, Grech cutaways and Freightliner buses — and, since 2017, full-size 56-passenger Van Hool motorcoaches. Daily airport work to San Francisco, Oakland and Sacramento airports became the company's bread and butter, alongside Wine Country winery visits, weddings and event programs, and corporate and collegiate groups. The Napa-based Wine Country Airporter, started by Deepitka, runs a per-seat airport shuttle service under a special CPUC permit — a service recognized with a congressional letter from Representative Mike Thompson.

In its June 2025 issue, Chauffeur Driven — the leading publication of the chauffeured transportation industry — profiled the company in “The Perfect Pair Offers True Elegance in NorCal” by Rob Smentek. The story follows Bobby and Deepitka as a “dynamic duo” who have worked side by side for nearly two decades: building the fleet vehicle by vehicle, planning transportation around 400-plus Napa and Sonoma wineries, running event shuttles for BottleRock Napa Valley and the Moscone Center in San Francisco, and moving fans to Levi's Stadium and Giants and Warriors games. It also tells the human side: chauffeurs Ray Lynskey and Tom Staats who have stayed for more than a decade, chauffeurs who choose their own schedules because trust is part of the operation, and Bobby's election to the Greater California Limousine Association board as a director for Northern California.

Why Bobby built a national charter service

Years of airport runs, winery programs and event shuttles kept surfacing the same request: groups that needed the same standard of transportation somewhere else. Conventions moving people through Las Vegas. University programs traveling out of state. Weddings and corporate events that started in one city and finished in another. Bobby saw that charter bus and event shuttle service is a genuinely national need served by a fragmented, locally focused market — organizers too often had to start from scratch in every city, sizing vehicles, vetting unfamiliar operators and managing movement without one accountable partner.

Bobby's Charter Bus was created to answer that need: one transportation contact for the entire movement, four clearly defined vehicle sizes, and planning built on the same operating discipline True Elegance proved in Northern California — accurate vehicle sizing, realistic timing, clean and well-maintained equipment, and chauffeurs who show up prepared. Bobby's Charter Bus coordinates transportation nationwide through company-operated vehicles and qualified transportation partners, depending on the market, itinerary, availability and trip requirements.
